Some retailers offer 60, 100, or even 365-night trials. While that sounds good on paper, it often means they expect you to get it wrong. At World of Beds, we’ve spent decades perfecting the art of the ‘Perfect Match.’
The Science of Sleep Adjustment: Research shows it takes the human body between 14 and 21 nights to physically adjust to a new support system. By night 30, your posture has aligned, and your sleep cycles have stabilised.
If it’s not right by then, it’s not the mattress for you. We don't want you sleeping on the wrong bed for months; we want to get you on the right one immediately.
How the Trial Works
We want you to love your bed. To ensure you have the best experience, our trial is simple and transparent:
- The Protector Rule: To qualify, simply purchase a World of Beds Mattress Protector with your new mattress. This keeps your trial hygienic and ensures your mattress stays in showroom condition.
- The 14-Night Settle: Sleep on your new mattress for at least 14 nights. Give your muscles and spine time to meet their new best friend.
- The 30-Day Decision: If by Day 30 you aren't waking up refreshed, contact your local store. We will arrange a one-time exchange for a mattress that better suits you.
The Details (Terms & Conditions)
We believe in fairness. To keep this service available for everyone, we have a few common-sense requirements:
1. Eligibility & Hygiene
- The mattress must be used with a qualifying World of Beds protector from night one.

To be eligible for exchange, the mattress must be clean, unstained, and free from odours or pet hair. * Note: If the mattress is soiled or unhygienic, we cannot accept it for exchange.
2. The Exchange Process
- Activation Fee: A one-off £50 fee applies to all exchanges. This covers the professional collection of your old mattress and the delivery of your new one.
- Like-for-Like Size: Exchanges must be for the same size mattress.
- Price Adjustment: If your new choice is more expensive, you simply pay the difference. Please note: no refunds are given if a lower-priced model is chosen.
3. Support Requirements
- Your mattress must be placed on a suitable base (a modern divan or a bed frame with slats no more than 6cm apart). Proper support is vital for mattress performance!
4. Exclusions
- The trial applies to mattresses only (not bed frames, divans, or adjustable bases).
- Excludes clearance/ex-display, cot/children's mattresses, and bespoke ‘made-to-order’ or zip-and-link sizes.
- One Exchange Limit: The trial is designed to find your perfect match. Once an exchange is made, the trial does not restart on the replacement.
